In general, substrates must be free of dust, oil and grease, free from any moisture rising, with no loose, flaky or imperfectly anchored parts such as residues of cement, lime, paint coatings and adhesives, which must be completely removed. The substrate must be stable, without cracks and have a functioning DPM within the subfloor. If no DPM is present, a surface epoxy DPM must be applied prior to installing Kerakoll Profow Trade. In particular, substrates must be treated with a suitable primer as shown in the table:Kerakoll Proflow Trade Instructions for Use:PreparationPour the pre-measured 5.0 l bottle of Kerakoll Proflow Trade liquid into a clean container; then pour in a bag of Proflow Trade, while shaking. Mix with a mechanical mixer until a smooth, lump-free and smoothing mixture is achieved. Larger quantities of Kerakoll Proflow Trade may be prepared in suitable mixers. After the first mixing, it is advisable to leave the mixture to rest for approx. 2 minutes and then mix again briefly. Proflow Trade features a high degree of self-smoothing capacity. The use of an aeration tool or spike roller can be used to further improve the surface finish of Proflow Trade. If an additional application of Proflow Trade is required once the initial application has been completed, the first installation layer must first be hardened and ready to accept foot traffic and additional application, this is generally after 12 hours. The initial layer of Kerakoll Proflow Trade must be primed with a neat coat of Active Prime Fix prior to subsequent applications. In the case of low temperatures and high humidity it is advisable to keep the environment ventilated during application and during the hours immediately following application, in order to avoid the formation of condensation on the surface of the smoothing compound during the setting phase.Cleaning:Residual traces of Kerakoll Proflow Trade can be removed from tools using water before the product hardens.Special Notes:Joints: perimeter expansion must be allowed for in the application of self levelling compounds. Perimeter expansion edging strip must be installed along the whole perimeter of the room, on the walls and on any other vertical elements protruding from the substrate/subfloor.
