Larsen Lartex Flo 2-Part Latex Self Levelling Compound extended informationDIRECTIONS:PREPARATIONThe building must be weather-tight prior to the placing of any screed material: the roof, external doors and windows must be in place, closed or covered, and taped to prevent draughts. All substrates must be suitable to receive the screed as per current good working practices. The substrate must be structurally sound and be free from laitance, plaster, grease, oils, paint, polish etc and any water-softenable or loosely adhered contaminants which may impair adhesion. Any remaining adhesive residues should be checked to ensure that they are not softened by water and that they are hard, sound and have a sufficient cohesive strength to receive a levelling compound. If not, suitable mechanical preparation of substrate may be required. Timber substrates must be stable, free from deflection during installation and service. Power-floated concrete should be mechanically prepared. Air and substrate temperatures must be greater than 50C. Relative Humidity value of the floor must be less than 75% when moisture sensitive finishes are to be laid otherwise Larsen DPM may be required. Porous and absorbent substrates should be dampened or primed to reduce suction and prevent pin-holing. If the substrate is particularly porous, 1 coat of Larsen Acrylic primer dilute1:1 with clean water may be required. If sub-floors are non-porous it is recommended to prime the surface with 1 coat of Larsen NP Keycoat primer or Larsen Primer Grip 360 neat.MIXINGAdd one liquid component to one bag. Mix with a heavy duty drill and paddle for 1-2 minutes. Adding extra liquid or water will impair the performance.Larsen Lartex Flo APPLICATIONPour the mixed product over the floor and spread out to a smooth finish with a trowel. Where necessary, release air bubbles with a trowel or spiked roller. This practice must be carried out within 5 minutes of application. Lartex Flo can be applied from feather edge up to 10mm. For thickness of up to 15mm, the product may be bulked out with an equal volume of 3-6mm aggregate. This economical application may require a further application of the standard mix to give a smooth finish. In this case it is advisable to prime with Larsen Acrylic primer between layers. Larsen Lartex Flo will accept foot traffic after 2-3hrs. Floor coverings can typically be installed after 12-24hrs depending on thickness of Lartex Flo, substrate and site conditions.RESTRICTIONSAll work should be carried out to current best practice, trade body advice and BS8204. Larsen Lartex Flo is not suitable for industrial use and cannot be used as a final wearing surface. Lartex Flo is suitable for use over underfloor heating systems. Room and substrate temperatures should be above 5°C during application. Drying times are dependent on screed thickness and site conditions.Always test moisture contents before laying impervious floor coverings. Freshly laid screed should be protected from rapid drying as result of draughts, strong direct sunlight or similar. After installation protect the screed from following trades.
